HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Well, the holidays have passed. We usually spend tremendous time, energy and money on preparing for the holidays and suddenly they are over. Many people feel a sense of being let down as though the excitement is all over.

One reason for this let down is that we no longer feel we have a focus for our creative energy or something wonderful to look forward to in our lives. We can redirect our energies and focus them on creating not just a moment, but all the moments of our lives. There is always the practice of making New Year’s resolutions, but what I propose is a bit different. This is deciding and declaring to the universe who you are and what you want. Creating this vision requires the time and quiet to go inward to receive the answers.

Now more than ever is the time for us all to collectively create something different, something peaceful and something beautiful. Peace in the world starts in each and every home. This is the time for us all to decide who we are and who we will be in our families. Who we choose to be will have an enormous effect on our lives and the lives of our children. Know that you are deserving of your very best vision. As you allow yourself to be your highest vision of you, you give others around you permission to do the same.

The first part of the classes I teach always addresses setting intentions because this is the foundation upon which everything else in our lives rests. Even after eight years of re-creating my family after my own divorce we can still face problems and challenges just by virtue of being a two-home family. In each and every situation we must all make decisions based on our visions of ourselves. I continue to set my intentions and my vision for who I am. I have not made a decision that I have regretted in the past eight years with regard to my parenting partner. This is not to say I have not made mistakes, because I have. However, I have learned from those mistakes and I have made changes accordingly. I have never chosen a path of action out of anger. My goal is always to keep my actions in alignment with my vision of myself to the best and highest ability. I believe this has helped us all to move forward.

One effective practice is to wait in the decision making process until one can be calm and centered to take or elect an action. Taking this moment to think can help to gain perspective on any given issue.

I urge you to take time in this New Year to create your vision of yourself. Create your highest vision of yourself. Decide and declare to the universe who you are and what you want. Make sure your actions are in alignment with your vision. You will see the beauty in yourself which will lead you to see the beauty in all those around you. Let love and compassion guide you. Watch how this greatly affects your family and your own life.

You can create peace in your home now. You are deserving and so are your children. Be the guide, lead your family to a good place.

Namaste,

Karen
